Fairy tale career behooves a bona fide beauty queen. Especially one who’s starred in a fairy tale film. We are, of course, talking about
Jacqueline Fernandez.
With the Miss Sri Lanka crown adorning her gorgeous head, Jackie chose to go ek samundar paar to the land of opportunities (India, in her case), and finally found it all. Jackie’s Bollywood stint not only earned her big bucks and an Indian fan following, but also made her a star in her own country.
As her business manager proudly says, “After Sri Lankan cricketers, Jackie is the most popular face there.” Born in Colombo to a Sinhalese father and Malaysian mother, Jacqueline has lived and worked in Bahrain and Australia, but it was India that got her fame and something of a fortune. Though “Alladin”, her acting debut, went up in a wisp of smoke, her latest outing, “Murder 2”, made a killing at the box office. Hot property now, Jackie currently has some potential hits – “Housefull 2”, “Race 2” and “Raaz 3” – up her sleeve. And that’s not counting her first Sri Lankan movie, “Parvegaya”, said to be the country’s most expensive film till date. We hear she is doing the film for free. A source had been quoted as saying, “Since Jackie gets paid very well in Bollywood, the director and producer offered to pay her $10,000 for the part. It’s too small an amount for Jackie, as she can make the same amount through appearances in India. But since the role is a cameo and she wants to do something in Sri Lanka, Jackie has decided to do the role for free.”
Her rose-tinted success story doesn’t stop here – Jackie also found love in India. Rumours are rife that the actress is now all set to settle down with actor/director Sajid Khan. Apparently, she also turned down the superhero flick “Krrish 3” as Sajid wasn’t comfortable with her kissing Hrithik on screen. Super love, that!
